San Francisco: Arion Press, 1992. American Buffalo won or was nominated for several awards and is considered one of the finest American plays written. It's returning to Broadway this April, 2022, starring Laurence Fishburne, Sam Rockwell, and Darren Criss. David Mamet wrote a new foreword for this edition, which divulges his inspiration for the play as a long-running poker game in a junk shop in Chicago. Michael McCurdy was the founder of Penmaen Press (1968-1985) as well as a prolific book illustrator, known for his skill as a wood engraver (Arion Press).
